Not her first series role in ten years after all: Halle Berry leaves “All’s Fair” with Kim Kardashian.
Just a week after the announcement of her involvement, there’s already a retraction: Halle Berry, 57, will not be part of the series “All’s Fair.” Industry insiders from “Vanity Fair” reported this, citing an insider. Scheduling conflicts are said to have led to her departure. Halle Berry was not only supposed to act in the legal drama but also serve as an executive producer behind the scenes.
Due to Halle Berry’s withdrawal, Kim Kardashian, 43, will have to do without a high-profile colleague. The reality TV icon and certified lawyer plays the lead role in “All’s Fair.” The project revolves around a law firm in Los Angeles composed entirely of women. Kardashian can still count on veteran actress Glenn Close, 77, whose involvement was announced simultaneously with Halle Berry’s.
“All’s Fair” is the first series that Ryan Murphy, 58, is producing for another streaming service after the end of his five-year contract with Netflix. The high-gloss series is set to air on the competing streaming service Hulu. Ryan Murphy had already cast Kim Kardashian in a significant role in the latest season of “American Horror Story.”
Halle Berry: Not Her First Series Role in Ten Years After All
For Halle Berry, “All’s Fair” would have been her first regular series role since “Extant.” In the mystery series, the Oscar winner portrayed an astronaut in two seasons from 2014 to 2015, who mysteriously becomes pregnant after a space mission.
However, Halle Berry’s fans can look forward to two new films. On August 16, “The Union” will premiere on Netflix. In the action-comedy, Berry plays an agent who recruits her childhood love, played by Mark Wahlberg, for a secret mission. The horror film “Never Let Go” is set to hit theaters on September 26.
