Even when we think we know our partners completely, sometimes surprises pop up. One woman had a small secret she kept from her husband, and it turned into quite a story.
At dinner in a restaurant, her phone’s battery was running low, so she turned it off to save power. Later, as they were driving home, she panicked when she realized she couldn’t find her phone. She searched through her suitcase and the car but found nothing.
In a rush of worry, she convinced her husband to drive back to the restaurant, even though it meant an extra hour of driving.
When they got back, the restaurant manager joined the search. Despite her husband’s growing frustration, they looked everywhere. Just as things seemed hopeless, she felt something in her jacket pocket. To her shock, her phone had been there the whole time.
Feeling embarrassed and not wanting to admit her mistake, she decided to keep it a secret. She told her husband, “I didn’t want to admit it.” Instead of coming clean, she pretended to use the restroom and then came back with a new explanation. She claimed, “It was on the toilet tank.”
Her husband still doesn’t know she had her phone with her all along. To avoid more embarrassment, she chose to keep the truth hidden.
