Will the Royal Family have to brace themselves once again? Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are set to give their next major interview following their explosive conversation with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
While the world is currently captivated by the Olympics, Duchess Meghan, 42, and Prince Harry, 39, sat down with host Jane Pauley, 73, for “CBS Sunday Morning” to give their second big interview – the first joint TV interview since their revealing spectacle in March 2021 with Oprah Winfrey, 70.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Return to Television
However, it seems this interview will be less tumultuous, as suggested by an initial announcement. The couple will discuss the continuation of their work with parents who have lost their children to online bullying and abuse. “The Duke and Duchess sat down with ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ host Jane Pauley last week for an exclusive interview to introduce a program that supports parents whose children have been affected by online harms,” a CBS spokesperson told the US portal “Pagesix,” adding, “Jane also spoke with parents participating in the pilot program, who described how it has helped them in their healing process.” The interview is set to air next Sunday, August 4, 2024 – just in time for Meghan’s 43rd birthday.
But it wouldn’t be Harry and Meghan without a few surprises. It’s quite possible that the couple will share anecdotes about their own children or even show a few private family photos. Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, also played a role in their Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan.”
“It was impossible not to break down in tears back then”
Back in October 2023, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared alongside grieving parents at a panel discussion in New York, led by their “Archewell Foundation.” They urged tech giants to change addictive apps that can harm the mental health of young people. “Please stop sending children content that you wouldn’t want your own children to see,” Prince Harry appealed to tech companies. “I think that’s a very simple ask, and it’s an easy fix,” he emphasized, while Meghan revealed, “A year ago, we met some of the families, and back then it was impossible not to break down in tears when hearing their stories because it’s just so devastating. But I’m glad our children are at an age where this is not in our immediate future.” Still, she admitted she is “also afraid that things will continue to change and we will face this ahead.”
Upcoming Visit to Colombia
In addition to the interview announcement, the Sussexes revealed on Thursday, August 1, that they will visit Colombia at the invitation of the country’s Vice President, Francia Márquez, 42, where they will participate in various activities promoting a safer online environment.
