Does Princess Anne need more recovery time after her accident? After making some initial appearances, she has now canceled several engagements.
Is it too much for Princess Anne, 73? Despite having resumed some public appearances following her horseback riding accident at the end of June, the younger sister of King Charles III, 75, has now had to cancel some of her scheduled engagements.
While the 73-year-old still visited the 4th Battalion of the Military Intelligence Corps at Bulford Barracks in Salisbury, Wiltshire on Wednesday (July 17), according to “Hello!” magazine, she has since canceled several upcoming appointments.
Three Engagements Canceled
Among the canceled engagements was a trip to Scotland earlier in the week to visit the lighthouse tender ship NLV Pharos. Additionally, her appointment at Brancaster Station in northern Norfolk on Thursday (July 18) did not take place. The National Coastwatch Institution (NCI), of which Anne is a patron, confirmed this to the “Norwich Evening News.”
A third engagement, a barbecue event with the London Scottish F.C. rugby club, was also missed by Anne. The club stated on their website: “We regret to inform you that Her Royal Highness Princess Anne will no longer be attending our pre-season BBQ on July 18 as she is only gradually returning to her duties.”
Anne Doesn’t Remember the Horse Accident
On June 24, it was reported that the Princess had been admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol after an accident. She had to undergo five days of treatment after sustaining an injury on her Gloucestershire estate, reportedly from being kicked by a horse. On July 12, she made her first public appearance since the incident. At the horse event in Gloucestershire, Anne mentioned that she could “no longer remember” the accident.
