It seems Beyoncé’s charm didn’t work on Robbie Williams. The singer reportedly turned her down several years ago.
This relationship would have certainly made headlines: Robbie Williams, 50, is said to have rejected none other than pop icon Beyoncé, 42. Guy Chambers, 61, revealed this on the podcast “I Never Thought It Would Happen.” In a conversation with podcast host Chris Difford, 69, Williams’ long-time songwriter disclosed that the singer had “flirted” with the Brit in 1998.
Pop Stars Met on a TV Show
The two reportedly met on the music show “Top Of The Pops.” At that time, Beyoncé was still part of the girl group Destiny’s Child. “I remember Beyoncé,” he said about the American star. “She was incredibly young back then.” The “Angels” singer was about 24 years old at the time, while Beyoncé, at 17, was still underage. This is why Williams apparently did not reciprocate the flirtation. “He said, ‘Oh, she’s too young. I won’t pursue this,'” Chambers reported.
Long-Term Commitment Elsewhere
Throughout his long career, Williams was famously known as a ladies’ man. To this day, Williams proudly talks about his numerous affairs. Recently, he even claimed that he had been with all five Spice Girls and was practically addicted to sex during that time.
Robbie Williams eventually found his true love with Ayda Field, 45, whom he married in 2010. In an interview with “Hello!” magazine, Field mentioned that the couple plans to renew their wedding vows on their 15th anniversary in 2025. The couple has four children together. Later this year in December, the biopic “Better Man” about Williams is set to be released in the USA. The international release is scheduled for January 17, 2025, according to “Deadline.”
Two years before Williams and his wife tied the knot, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, 54, got married and have three children together. Earlier this year, the singer released her eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter,” a tribute to the history of country music.
