Tattoos are one of the most powerful ways people express their individuality. Some choose a small, subtle design, while others go all out, covering large parts of their bodies with intricate artwork.
One person who went to the extreme is Tristan Weigelt, a 26-year-old tattoo apprentice. He became a headline sensation after revealing what he looked like before using his body as a canvas for tattoos.
The transformation was jaw-dropping!
Tristan’s journey to covering 95 percent of his body in tattoos began when he was just 20 years old. Over the years, his body art has become a part of who he is.
“It’s kind of weird looking at myself without all the tattoos,” he told the Daily Star. “But funnily enough, I still feel exactly the same as before on the inside.”
When asked about the most painful tattoos, Tristan didn’t hesitate. He said the tattoos on his face and head were the hardest to endure. “It felt like someone was scraping me with a metal brush,” he described. “It took six full-day sessions, with each one lasting between five and six hours. The pain? Probably an eight out of ten.”
While many people choose tattoos for their deep, personal meanings, Tristan’s approach is different. None of his tattoos carry hidden messages. For him, it’s simply about the art and the passion behind it.
In the last five years, he has spent an eye-watering $50,000 on his body art.
For those thinking about getting a tattoo, Tristan has some advice: “Get what you love and what makes sense to you. I see so many people stressing about whether a tattoo fits them or if it’s their style. If you like it – then get it.”
His message is simple: tattoos are about expressing yourself, and at the end of the day, the only opinion that really matters is your own.
