On July 18th, Taylor Swift played her second concert in Gelsenkirchen. The departure from the arena afterward turned into a real odyssey for the Swifties. However, the performance and the star-studded show likely made up for the stress in retrospect.
Taylor Swift, 34, thrilled her fans for three and a half hours with songs spanning her career during her second concert in Germany on July 18th in Gelsenkirchen. There was singing, dancing, celebrating, and bracelet trading—but afterward? Waiting! According to media reports, a massive chaos erupted in the parking lots around the Veltins-Arena at Schalke after the concert. Concertgoers reportedly stood in traffic for hours.
Taylor Swift Delights Fans, Parking Lot Frustrates Them
After the spectacular show, there were no attendants on the parking lots—resulting in chaotic exits. Several Swifties reported on TikTok that they were stuck in parking bays until well after midnight. “We literally stood in the same spot for two hours. We didn’t move an inch,” one person said. Even when they managed to leave the parking lot, progress was at a snail’s pace.
Even Stars Can’t Miss Taylor
During the show, which again attracted 60,000 people, there was no hint of the ensuing difficulties. Taylor Swift delivered her usual 45 songs, executed numerous costume changes, and danced in front of her elaborate stage sets. A special treat for the fans: In the audience, as at the first Gelsenkirchen concert, was Swift’s partner Travis Kelce, 34, whom the pop star happily waved to. His presence was surprising, as the football player was supposed to start his training camp with the Kansas City Chiefs in the USA on July 19th.
According to media reports, Swift’s good friend Emma Stone, 35, was also in the arena, as she allegedly was at the first “The Eras” concert in Gelsenkirchen. German celebrities didn’t miss the spectacle either: among the concertgoers were host Elton, 53, comedian Oliver Pocher, 46, model Sandy Meyer-Wölden, 41, and cabaret artist Dieter Nuhr, 63, as shown on Instagram.
On Friday evening (July 19th), Taylor Swift will perform her third concert at Schalke. After that, she will head to four more concerts in Germany by the end of July, two in Hamburg and two in Munich.
