One of the best things about being an adult is the freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want. You can choose how to dress, style your hair, and present yourself to the world in whatever way feels right to you.
This freedom is something most of us take for granted, but few people take it as far as Amber Luke, a woman from Australia. Amber, a woman in her twenties, has set herself the ambitious goal of covering her entire body in tattoos.
Amber’s tattoo journey started when she was just 16 years old. From a young age, she was fascinated with body art, and over the years, this passion has become a huge part of her identity. In fact, Amber has spent a jaw-dropping $120,000 to transform herself into what she calls the “Dragon Girl.”
And it hasn’t been an easy or risk-free journey. Amber’s transformation has been filled with challenges and close calls. One of the most dangerous moments came when she decided to tattoo her eyeballs.
“Unfortunately, my artist went too deep into my eyeball. I was blind for three weeks. That was pretty brutal,” she recalled, looking back at the painful experience.
Amber didn’t always look the way she does today. In fact, she used to resemble a typical blonde girl-next-door. But after years of experimenting with body modifications, she has completely transformed into someone unrecognizable to her former self.
Besides tattoos, Amber also made the bold decision to get a forked tongue, making her look even more unique. According to reports, the Brisbane native has spent $120,000 on her body modifications, with $50,000 going toward about 600 tattoos and $70,000 spent on surgeries to change her appearance.
While Amber’s look may be shocking or surprising to some people, she says that these changes have played a huge role in helping her overcome personal struggles, including depression and suicidal thoughts.
Amber shared her story of transformation with the Daily Mail, explaining that her tattoos and body modifications gave her a sense of purpose and self-worth she had been missing.
“I was so catatonically depressed, suicidal and was a walking dead girl,” Amber admitted. “I was numb. I hated myself the majority of the time – that hatred ran deep. It tormented me. Now, I’ve totally transformed myself into someone I’m proud of being. I’m a strong woman who knows exactly what she wants and who she is.”
A few years ago, Amber posted a series of photos showing how she looked before her journey began. The difference is striking, and it’s clear just how much her appearance has changed.
Of course, not everyone understands or supports her choice to transform her body so dramatically. Amber has received plenty of criticism over the years, especially after she got her first tattoo. But despite the negativity, she hasn’t let anything stop her from chasing her dream of expressing herself through body art.
“I know my appearance isn’t for everyone,” Amber said, “but for me, this is my journey. It’s my way of showing the world who I am. I’m happy with how I look now, and that’s what matters the most.”
Amber’s story is a reminder that each of us has the right to express ourselves in the way that makes us feel the best. Whether it’s tattoos, fashion, or any other form of self-expression, the important thing is that we’re happy and comfortable in our own skin.
