On March 15, Tallulah shared an old video on Instagram that shows a young version of herself with her dad, Bruce Willis, at a film premiere. In the clip, she’s playing with her father’s head while he’s talking to the media. Despite the busy event, Bruce remains calm and loving, holding Tallulah in his arms without being bothered by her actions.
Tallulah captioned the video with a playful message: “Tell me your autistic without telling me your autistic [sic].” This invited her followers to share their thoughts and experiences. Some people expressed how sweet the moment was, while others, familiar with her behavior, began to connect the dots regarding her symptoms of autism.

As the comments poured in, a psychologist who specializes in neurodivergent conditions reached out with a question: “If you’re open to sharing, did you get diagnosed as a child?” This user, who goes by the name mfizzle, added, “Not sure how much of your journey you’ve shared but would love to read more. In response to this, Tallulah opened up about her diagnosis. She revealed, “This is the first time I’ve ever publicly shared my diagnosis. Found out this summer and it’s changed my life.” Her openness touched many people, and she received an outpouring of support and admiration for sharing such a personal part of her life.

In the comments, Tallulah’s sister, Scout LaRue Willis, 32, explained the connection between the clip and Tallulah’s diagnosis. She wrote, “She’s stimming,” referring to the moment when Tallulah repeatedly plays with her dad’s head and ear.
Tallulah responded, “Dude the ear curl,” mentioning how she loved the way she interacted with her father. She added, “I wish we had stronger audio,” reflecting on how much more could be captured from that sweet moment.
Bruce Willis’ Health Struggles
While Tallulah has been opening up about her own journey, her family has also been going through a difficult time with Bruce Willis’ health. In 2023, Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD), a degenerative condition that affects communication and behavior, rather than memory. One of the early signs of this condition was aphasia, which impairs a person’s ability to speak, write, and understand language.
Bruce’s family, including Tallulah, her sisters Scout and Rumer, and his wife Emma Hemming Willis, have rallied around him, offering support and love as he battles this illness.
Emma, who married Bruce in 2009, shared a beautiful message about him: “Just like you, we simply adore him. What you might not know, but maybe you could imagine, that being wrapped in his arms is the safest place in this whole wide world. He’s a true gentleman. With so much love to give and share. That’s what I get to see, his true core. I can tell you, it’s so pure and ever so good.”
