The 51-year-old actress spotted a homeless man in a wheelchair while in a parking lot near Santa Monica Beach, California. It’s easy to picture what most A-list celebrities would do in that situation—they would likely get in their cars and drive away. But Jennifer Garner is not like most celebrities.

Earlier this week, while at the Santa Monica Beach parking lot, Jennifer noticed a homeless man who was clearly in need of help. Without thinking twice, she rolled down her car window to talk to him. She gave him a bag filled with essential items, but then she saw something that tugged at her heartstrings—he was barefoot.
Immediately, she got out of her car, knelt beside him, and started putting socks on his feet. It was such a beautiful moment.
But Jennifer didn’t stop there! The star of 13 Going on 30 took off her own shoes and tried to give them to him. Even though it was obvious that her shoes were too small, she didn’t give up. Instead, she turned to a nearby paparazzi who was following her and asked for his help.
“What size feet do you have?” she asked him. “Can I get him your shoes? He really needs them!”
When the photographer asked what size the homeless man wore, Jennifer replied, “He’s a ten and a half.”
“Well, I’m eleven! Do you want me to give them to him? I can take them to him!” the photographer exclaimed. Without hesitation, he took off his shoes and offered them to Jennifer, refusing to accept any money in return.
Anyone who has been following Jennifer’s life and career knows she has always been generous. She has a long history of supporting those in need, including her work with Save the Children for over ten years.
“I didn’t grow up poor, but I was surrounded by it,” she once shared with Southern Living. “I always said I was a generation and a holler removed from rural poverty.”
She added, “I looked around and found Save the Children because they really set the standard for helping kids in rural America.”
