Keanu Reeves reveals serious injury he suffered recently while filming latest movie….

Keanu Reeves, one of the most adored stars of his generation, is famous for his kindness and humility. It seems like no one who’s met him has ever had a bad thing to say. So when Keanu revealed that something bad had happened to him, fans were understandably concerned.

Curious to know what went wrong? Keep reading.

At 59 years old, Keanu shared a surprising story about how he broke his kneecap while filming. Given his history of high-octane roles in movies like The Matrix and John Wick, you’d think it was from some intense stunt. But the real story? Much more unexpected.

It all came up during an interview with Stephen Colbert. Stephen asked, “What happened? How did they get to you?”

Keanu, in his calm yet tough manner, replied with a small smile, “No one got to me. Accident got to me.”

Not one to let things go, Stephen pushed for more details. “Did you jump between buildings? Roll over sharp objects like razor blades? What were you doing?”

Laughing, Keanu shook his head. “No, Stephen. I was just walking into a room—the dressing room, actually. Let me tell you what really happened.”

He explained that the injury took place during the filming of Good Fortune, a comedy he’s working on with Aziz Ansari and Seth Rogen. After spending some time in a freezing cold plunge pool, Keanu tried to warm up by doing what he called the “cold shuffle,” moving around in a room with padded carpeting. But as he was shuffling, his foot got caught on something.

To make it even clearer, Keanu got up from his seat to demonstrate the moment his knee gave out. “I spiked, man. Spiked hard,” he said, mimicking the fall by slamming his hand into Colbert’s desk. “I just rammed my knee right into the ground.”

Keanu continued, shaking his head at the memory. “My kneecap—my patella—broke like a chipped potato. I didn’t even know it at first. But when my knee popped, I knew something was wrong.”

With his signature sense of humor, Keanu added, “Comedy is hard, man.”

Stephen, always quick with a joke, said, “But Aziz and Rogen weren’t filming an action movie, right?”

Keanu grinned and replied, “Nope. It was comedy.”

Stephen shook his head, laughing. “Welcome to my life.”

Back in January, Keanu was spotted on set using crutches and keeping an ice pack on his knee, still recovering from the injury. But that didn’t stop him from working.

Good Fortune is special because it marks Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut. Along with Keanu, the film stars Sandra Oh and Keke Palmer. Not only did Aziz direct, but he also co-wrote and co-produced the movie.

Though Keanu’s injury didn’t come from a high-flying stunt, it just goes to show that accidents can happen anywhere—even while doing a silly “cold shuffle.” And as always, Keanu handled it with a smile and good humor, reminding us all that even the toughest guys can have a stumble.
