Mrs. Parks stood in front of the class and asked, “Can anyone tell me which human body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?”

The classroom fell silent. No one raised their hand, so Mrs. Parks decided to pick a student at random.

Little Mary shot up from her seat, arms crossed tightly, and exclaimed, “You shouldn’t be asking sixth graders dirty questions like that! I’m going to tell my parents, and they will go to the principal, and then he’ll fire you!”

Mrs. Parks just smiled and ignored Mary’s protest. She repeated her question, “Let’s try that again. Which body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?”

Mary’s eyes widened in disbelief. She pointed dramatically at her teacher and yelled, “You’re gonna get in big trouble!”

But Mrs. Parks continued to overlook her, looking around the class and asking, “Anyone?”

Finally, Billy stood up, glancing nervously around the room. “The body part that increases ten times its size when stimulated is the pupil of the eye,” he said, his voice shaking a little.

“Very good, Billy!” Mrs. Parks said with a proud smile.

Then she turned back to Mary and said, “As for you, young lady, I have three things to say: One, you have a dirty mind. Two, you didn’t read your homework. And three, one day you are going to be very, very disappointed.”

The whole class burst into laughter, and Little Mary’s face turned a deep shade of red. It was a moment she would always remember!
