Lynda Wiesmeier: Cause of death, Playboy career, movies

Lynda Wiesmeier was an actress who left her mark on the film world, even if just for a brief time. Though she’s known for a handful of unforgettable films, it’s a specific image of her that has gained attention in recent years, offering a glimpse into a past filled with nostalgia.

Born in 1963 in Washington D.C., Lynda Ann Wiesmeier was the ultimate blonde bombshell. With her stunning figure, she graced the pages of Playboy Magazine, where her beauty was celebrated across the world.

Lynda’s early years were quite unique. She was born in Bitburg, Germany, where her father worked as a doctor in the U.S. Air Force. The Wiesmeier family moved from place to place, with Lynda spending time in places like Bound Brook, New Jersey, where she became a regular sunbather at the Jersey shore.

But it was when the family settled in sunny Los Angeles that her future in modeling and acting truly began to take shape.

An Actress, Model, and More Lynda wasn’t the type to stay idle. She worked hard to juggle three careers: modeling, acting, and working as a clerk in a medical office. She had an energy about her that seemed unstoppable.

In 1982, her beauty caught the eye of Playboy, and she became the centerfold Playmate for their July issue. This launched her into the spotlight, opening the door for her to star in films that showcased her natural beauty. Lynda appeared in popular movies such as Real Genius (1985), Teen Wolf (1985), Malibu Express (1985), and R.S.V.P. (1984).

But it was her final film that would cement her place in pop culture history. In 1987, Lynda was cast in Evil Town, a zombie horror movie that was released with much anticipation.

The film starred Dean Jagger, a legend in his own right, who played a mad scientist trying to create eternal youth using a drug synthesized from human pituitary fluid. Of course, things went horribly wrong, and zombies were created from the unlucky donors.

A Twist of Fate What made Evil Town even more interesting was the surprising connection to Playboy. Alongside Lynda, Keith Hefner, the younger brother of Hugh Hefner, was also in the film. With both of them involved, the movie seemed to have a certain Playboy flair.

The film was set to premiere on June 3, 1987, but thanks to the buzz surrounding it, many theaters began showing it a day early. Unfortunately, despite the excitement, Evil Town didn’t quite meet expectations.

Critics weren’t impressed, with some even calling it a “silly horror film.” Cavett Binion from All Movie Guide described the film as a “mishmash of scenes from earlier films” and added that it was “spiced up with some gratuitous nudity courtesy of former Playboy Playmate Lynda Wiesmeier.” That had to sting.

But here’s the twist: Over time, a particular scene from Evil Town has gone viral. And not for the reasons one might think.

The viral moment features Lynda sharing the screen with the relatively unknown actor, Scott Hunter. At first glance, this looks like just another 1980s snapshot. In front of a Dodge car, Lynda and Scott strike a pose, both wearing iconic 1980s attire.

Scott sports dark shorts and a gray hoodie splashed with colorful motifs, while Lynda rocks high-waisted white shorts and a bright red top tied artfully at the waist. The fashion, the colors, the vibe—all scream 1980s.

It’s this style that has captured the hearts of many, offering a playful and nostalgic look back at the fashion of the era. In the 1980s, fashion was big, bold, and filled with color. People mixed punk, glam rock, and preppy looks, with crazy accessories, bright makeup, and lots of plastic jewelry.

And sometimes, all it takes is one simple image from a forgotten film to bring back those memories. That’s exactly what Lynda and Scott did with this unforgettable photo.

Life After Hollywood After leaving the film industry, Lynda decided to embrace family life. She married and had two children, a son and a daughter, from her first marriage.

The family settled in Lafayette, Louisiana, where Lynda found new purpose as a records manager in a law office. Life seemed to be moving along smoothly, but in 2004, Lynda went through a divorce. She packed up and headed back to California, ready to start a fresh chapter.

Even after stepping away from the spotlight, Lynda remained connected with her fans. She became a familiar face at fan conventions like Glamourcon, The Hollywood Collectors Show, and WonderCon, where she shared her memories and signed autographs for those who adored her.

A Heartbreaking Goodbye Sadly, Lynda’s life was cut short when she passed away at the young age of 49 in December 2012, after bravely battling a brain tumor.

It’s heartbreaking to think about the stories she might have shared about her time in films like Evil Town—a charming relic of a different cinematic era. But even though she’s no longer with us, Lynda’s legacy lives on.

Her charm, beauty, and presence continue to bring joy to her fans. Through the years, her image in that viral scene from Evil Town serves as a reminder of the 1980s, a time when fashion was unforgettable and cinema was full of quirky moments.
