My Fiancé Met a Little Boy on Our Wedding Day and Found Out He Was My Son – Story of the Day

I became a single mom when I was still in college. From that moment on, my love life turned into a battlefield. Every man I dated disappeared the moment he found out I had a child. They didn’t even give me a chance. They just ran.

But then, I met Glenn. He was different—or at least, I thought so. That’s when I made the biggest mistake of my life: I decided to hide the truth about my son. And when my child showed up at our wedding, everything I had been running from crashed right into me.

It all started with Hans.

“I’m pregnant, Hans. We’re going to be parents. Isn’t it wonderful?” I said with excitement.

Hans wasn’t just my boyfriend—he was my T.A. at the University of Richmond in Virginia. He was tall, handsome, and always treated me like a princess. I thought he was my forever.

So when I found out I was pregnant, I wasn’t scared. I was overjoyed. I imagined us getting married, raising our child together, building a family.

But instead of sharing my happiness, Hans exploded.

“What? Are you crazy? No! That baby can’t be mine! You have to abort it!” he screamed.

“Hans, darling! We can’t do that. It’s our baby. We made him—or her—out of love!” I pleaded with tears in my eyes.

“No! I’m not going to be in his life. This is your problem. Goodbye!” he shouted before slamming the door.

And just like that, he vanished. Hans quit the university, ignored every call, and left me to deal with everything alone.

When I told my parents, I expected support. Instead, they turned their backs on me too. They disowned me.

But no matter what anyone said, I couldn’t give up my baby. I already loved him.

Months later, I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. I named him Simon.

Those years were the hardest of my life. I was raising Simon while finishing college, juggling school, work, and motherhood. Luckily, my roommate Sara was kind enough to let us stay and even helped with Simon. Still, every day was a struggle.

But I survived. I graduated. I found a better job. Slowly, life started looking brighter. Simon grew, and soon, he would be starting school. I was proud of myself.

Except for one thing—my love life was a disaster.

Every man I dated ran away as soon as they learned I had a son. One man, Terrence, seemed different. He said he was fine with it—until I introduced him to Simon. After that, he vanished without even saying goodbye.

That’s when I made a decision. I wouldn’t tell any man about Simon until I was sure the relationship was serious.

Then, Glenn came into my life.

He was everything I dreamed of—charming, kind, funny. We could talk for hours, and it felt like we understood each other on every level.

But keeping Simon a secret wasn’t easy. Babysitters weren’t always available, and lying to cover things up was exhausting.

And then something unexpected happened. My parents showed up at my doorstep.

“Lana, I don’t know if you can forgive us,” my mother, Gigi, said with tears in her eyes. “But I really want to make up for all our lost time. I want to meet my grandson and have a relationship with you again.”

My father, Dylan, stepped forward too. “I’m sorry, my baby girl. We thought that having a baby would ruin your life, and you were so adamant about not having an abortion. Now I know that it was the right choice for you. Please, will you let us be in Simon’s life?”

I was stunned. After years of silence, they wanted to come back? But deep down, I wanted Simon to have a family. I agreed.

When Simon met them, his eyes lit up. “Grandma? Grandpa?” he said with excitement. He accepted them instantly, and I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders. At last, I wasn’t alone.

And with my parents helping out, I could focus more on Glenn.

As months passed, Glenn and I grew closer. One night, I asked him about kids.

“I definitely want children, Lana, don’t get me wrong,” Glenn said. “But I think we’re still too young for that. We should get married, maybe travel the world for a few years, and then think about kids.”

I nodded, but inside I was torn. Simon was already part of my world. How could I tell Glenn?

Then, out of nowhere, Glenn proposed. I was thrilled. Of course, I said yes—but my secret felt heavier than ever.

On my wedding day, I still hadn’t told him.

“You’re not going to tell him about your child?” my mother asked me as I begged her to babysit Simon during the ceremony.

“I’m sorry, Mom,” I said desperately. “You don’t know what it’s been like. Every man runs when they find out. I can’t tell Glenn the truth until we’re married.”

“Darling, he’s not going to like that either. A relationship needs trust and honesty,” she warned.

“Please! I’m begging you!” I pleaded. Finally, she agreed.

The plan was simple: my dad would walk me down the aisle, then leave to watch Simon so my mom could stay at the wedding. But my mom had other plans.

The ceremony began. My father walked me down the aisle, the priest started speaking, and I thought everything was going perfectly.

But then, without me noticing, my mother arrived—with Simon.

I didn’t see them until Glenn and I kissed. That’s when Simon ran down the aisle.

“Mom! Mom! Congratulations! You got married! I have a new father finally!” he shouted with joy.

The guests gasped. Glenn froze. His face turned pale.

“Mom? Is he your son, Lana? What is going on?” Glenn asked, his jaw tight, his voice low so the guests wouldn’t hear.

I whispered, “Let’s go out, and I’ll explain privately.”

We smiled, waved, took the photos, let people throw rice. But the moment we got in the car, Glenn’s face hardened.

“Tell me the truth. Now,” he demanded.

And so, I told him everything. About Hans, about raising Simon alone, about how every man had left me because of it.

“I know I should’ve told you earlier. I love you, Glenn. I couldn’t risk losing you. I was going to tell you after the honeymoon. My mom wasn’t supposed to bring him…” I confessed, trembling.

Glenn stared at me. “I can’t believe this, Lana. You hid your five-year-old son from me for almost a year. How can we trust each other after that?”

“Please, don’t be angry,” I begged. “Put yourself in my shoes. I was terrified of losing you.”

“I understand why you did it,” he said after a long pause. “But I’m angry because children are a gift. And you didn’t trust me enough to tell me about him.”

At the reception, Glenn surprised me. He walked straight to Simon, knelt down, and said, “Hey, buddy. I guess I’m your new dad now.”

Simon beamed, and my heart nearly burst.

Later that night, Glenn turned to me. “I’m still angry, Lana. But Simon is amazing, and I made vows today. I’m in this for the long haul. But you can NEVER lie to me again.”

Tears spilled down my cheeks as I clung to him. “Thank you! Thank you! I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you and Simon. I love you so much!”

We had a beautiful honeymoon, and when we came home, Glenn and Simon bonded instantly. Simon adored him.

A few months later, I discovered I was pregnant again. This time, Glenn held my hand through every step. We welcomed a little girl, Julianne, into the world, and soon after, Glenn officially adopted Simon.

From then on, Glenn proved to be the best father I could’ve ever imagined.

After years of heartbreak, I had finally found the right man.

Lesson from my story:

  1. The right person is out there. After heartbreak and rejection, I found someone who loved not just me, but my son too.
  2. Never keep secrets in a relationship. My lie could have destroyed us. I was lucky Glenn forgave me—but not everyone would.
