“We’re vegan in our house,” Nadia said. Her 15-year-old stepdaughter, however, was not happy with this rule. “I can’t impose my choices anymore, and she demands meat,” Nadia explained.

She told her stepdaughter firmly, “My house, my rules! If you don’t like it, stay at your mom’s.” But the girl just smiled, and Nadia’s husband remained silent, not supporting either side.

Later that night, at 2 a.m., Nadia woke up and noticed her husband wasn’t in bed. Suddenly, she heard a scream coming from their 7-year-old son’s room. Rushing there, she froze in horror.

Her son was on the floor, covered in chocolate, looking very sick and pale. Beside him was a large chocolate cake with peanuts. Her son is severely allergic to peanuts, and they are always careful to keep them out of the house.

Nadia soon discovered that her stepdaughter had given the cake to her son on purpose, hoping to “teach us a lesson.” Desperately, Nadia searched for her stepdaughter, but she had already run away. Thankfully, Nadia quickly administered an EpiPen to her son, and after a few hours, he began to recover.

In a heated discussion, Nadia told her husband, “I never want to see your daughter again.” Her husband tried to defend his daughter, saying, “She’s just a teenager who didn’t understand the seriousness of her actions.”

He insisted that he had spoken to her and wanted Nadia to forgive her. But Nadia couldn’t bring herself to forgive such a dangerous act.

What should Nadia do?
