Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended the men’s final of the Wimbledon tennis tournament accompanied by her daughter and sister. Nonetheless, the mother of three also thought of her sons, as revealed by a new video.
July 14, 2024, was a big day for sports – and a big day for the Wales family! Catherine, Princess of Wales, 42, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Pippa Matthews, 40, attended the men’s final at Wimbledon, while Prince William, 42, later took Prince George, 10, as his companion to the final game of the European Football Championship. The following Monday, Kensington Palace shared a private photo showing Charlotte and Prince Louis, 6, watching the Euro match at home on TV: The two siblings followed the game – and certainly their dad and brother – intently and dressed in cute jerseys.
And if these adorable details alone were not enough to give the sporty Sunday a royal touch, it has now been revealed that George and Louis were also in a way present at Wimbledon. Attentive users overheard a conversation between Catherine and the winner Carlos Alcaraz, 21, where the Princess of Wales asked a question her two sons had given her to pass on.
Catherine, Princess of Wales, visits Wimbledon with a mission from her sons
For the second time in a row, Kate was able to present the young tennis professional Alcaraz with the winner’s trophy at Wimbledon. The two had already had the opportunity to talk before – and did so again in a completely relaxed manner. This is shown in video recordings shared on X (formerly Twitter). After his match and the award ceremony, Alcaraz had an extended conversation with the Princess of Wales, with Charlotte also accompanying her mother to the brief meeting.
The last question Catherine asked Carlos was on behalf of George and Louis: “The boys want to know who your favorite football player from Spain is?” Kate asked. The tennis professional from El Palmar responded with a grin: “Alvaro Morata for me,” to which the royal joked, “We need to watch out for Morata.” Alcaraz added that he “always likes Yamine Lamal, 17, too.”

With these answers, not only the Wales boys were likely satisfied, but Alcaraz also demonstrated his football knowledge. The players Morata and Lamal were instrumental in Spain’s victory over England – a fact that might have made George and Louis a little sad.
