At the dazzling New York City premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds stole the spotlight, not just for the movie but for a very personal reveal. The crowd was buzzing, and Ryan had something heartfelt to share about his family.
Standing in front of the audience, he began, “I want to start by saying thank you to my wife, Blake, who is here.” The crowd fell silent, hanging on his words. Ryan smiled and continued, “I also want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, and Olin, who are here tonight.
I hope that, if I’m lucky, the most traumatic thing in your wondrous life will be watching this movie!” His humor landed perfectly, and the room erupted in laughter.
After a brief pause, he looked lovingly at his family and said, “I love that my entire family is here.”
Ryan, 47, and Blake, 36, have been building a close-knit family for years. Their daughters—James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4—were already familiar faces, but just this past February, their fourth child joined the family. Blake had given birth just five months after confirming she was pregnant, and fans had been eagerly waiting to learn more about the newest addition.
During a February 13, 2023 appearance on CNBC’s Power Lunch, Ryan expressed their excitement about the arrival of baby number four. “We’re very excited. Look, we wouldn’t do this four times if we didn’t love it,” he said with a grin, clearly thrilled about the growing family. His signature mix of humor and sincerity shone through.
He also gave a little update on how everyone was doing since the baby’s arrival. “Everybody’s doing great. Everybody’s actually doing fantastic,” Ryan shared. “If we hadn’t figured it out by now, I think we’d be in deep, deep trouble,” he added, drawing more laughs.
However, at that point, Ryan hadn’t shared the baby’s name or gender. He and Blake have always preferred to wait until the birth to find out.
“We never find out until the baby is born,” Ryan revealed during an interview with Today. “I know girls, so I’m kind of hoping for that, but I’m ready for whatever happens.” His excitement for parenthood was evident, no matter what.
Finally, at the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere, Ryan delighted fans by announcing the name of their fourth child: Olin. The crowd responded with applause, welcoming the newest member of the Reynolds-Lively family.
