Once upon a time, a woman named Sarah came home one sunny afternoon and found a golden retriever lying on her living room carpet. The dog looked well-cared for; his fur was shiny, he wasn’t hungry, and he wore a bright blue collar. As soon as Sarah walked in, the dog lifted his head, gave her a friendly wag of his tail, and then promptly laid back down, falling fast asleep.
Sarah chuckled softly to herself, thinking, “What a cozy little visitor I have!” She decided to let him rest, hoping he would wake up soon. Sarah smiled, feeling a connection to Max’s family. “Of course! He’s welcome here anytime,” she replied in her next note. And so, the routine continued. Max would come over, curl up on the carpet, and enjoy his peaceful naps while Sarah went about her day.
As the weeks passed, Sarah and Max’s family began to communicate more through their notes. They shared stories about their lives, and Sarah even invited them over for a barbecue one weekend. The kids were thrilled to meet Max’s new friend, and they all laughed as Max happily bounded around, enjoying the attention from everyone.
