A Tale of Triumph and Justice
My wife, Emma, had a brilliant idea. She wanted to explore a new job in retail! She thought it would be perfect for her interests, and she was buzzing with excitement at the chance to find a position that suited her.
One afternoon, while wandering around the shopping center, Emma noticed a sign outside a famous lingerie store that said, “Now Hiring!” Her heart raced with joy as she thought about applying. With determination, Emma walked into the store and approached the sales assistant to ask about the job.
But as soon as she arrived, the assistant barely acknowledged her. It was like she didn’t even see Emma until she was right in front of her. With a mean sneer, the assistant looked Emma up and down, then delivered a shocking blow: “Look, I don’t think you’re pretty enough for this job. No chance. Don’t even bother.”
Emma came home heartbroken, completely crushed by that cruel rejection. Seeing her so sad broke my heart too. After the sadness passed, though, I felt a wave of anger wash over me. How could someone treat my wife like that? I knew I had to do something—no one, absolutely no one, could humiliate Emma like that!
Planning the Perfect Revenge
A few days later, I hatched a plan. I returned to the lingerie store, making sure the same sales assistant—now I knew her name was Sophia—was working that day. This time, I was ready. I dressed sharply to show confidence and success. As I walked into the store, Sophia greeted me with a totally different attitude. Her fake smile was plastered on her face.
“Good afternoon, sir! How can I help you today?” she chirped, her voice dripping with politeness.
I flashed her a charming smile and told her I was looking for a special gift for my wife. Eager to make a sale, Sophia quickly started showing me different items, her attitude now the complete opposite of how she had treated Emma. I listened to her sales pitch, asked questions about the quality, materials, and best-sellers, all while keeping my anger bottled up inside.
After about half an hour, I decided it was time for the big reveal. “You know,” I said casually, “my wife came here the other day. She wanted to apply for a job.”
Sophia’s face flickered with recognition, but she quickly tried to hide it. “Oh, really? That’s great,” she said, forcing her smile to stay in place.
“Yes,” I continued, “but she was really upset when she came home. Apparently, someone told her she wasn’t ‘pretty enough’ to work here.”
I watched as the color drained from Sophia’s face. She stammered, “Oh, um, I’m not sure who said that… we have very high standards, you see.”
“High standards?” I raised an eyebrow. “Or just shallow ones?”
Sophia looked visibly uncomfortable now, her eyes darting around like she was searching for a way to escape. But I wasn’t finished yet. “My wife is beautiful, inside and out, and she didn’t deserve to be treated so horribly. I want to speak to your manager.”
Sweet Justice
Moments later, the manager arrived. Her name was Lisa, and she looked professional and serious. I quickly repeated the entire story to her, emphasizing the hurtful insult and how deeply it had affected Emma. Lisa was shocked and appalled. “I’m so sorry to hear this,” she said sincerely. “We do not tolerate such behavior in our store. Sophia, please step into my office.”
Sophia’s face turned bright red as she followed Lisa into the back office. I waited patiently, knowing that justice was about to be served. A few minutes later, Lisa returned with a more relaxed expression. “I apologize for what happened,” she said. “We would love for Emma to reapply. We’ll ensure she gets a fair and respectful interview.”
The Aftermath
When I got home, I couldn’t wait to tell Emma everything. At first, she was hesitant, still feeling hurt from her earlier experience. But I encouraged her to give it another chance. After some persuasion, she agreed.
A week later, Emma returned to the store for her interview. This time, she was greeted warmly by Lisa and the staff. And guess what? Sophia was nowhere to be seen! Emma got the job, and I made sure to visit her often, always wearing a proud smile.
Emma thrived in her new role, and her confidence grew with each passing day. As for Sophia, she was transferred to a different branch far away from us. Justice had been served! Emma and I often laugh about what happened now, grateful for the strength and lessons it brought us.
No one would ever make her feel unworthy again—and I’d always be there to make sure of that!
